Welcome to the First Virtual Fighter Wing. We are a new Virtual Fighter Wing whose mission is to provide dominant combat airpower and world-class training opportunities. We founded the 1st VFW because we wanted to get the most out of our combat flight sim experience, by focusing on realistic training and combat exercises. Although we fly combat missions on a daily basis, the core of the 1st VFW is training. We believe if training is the primary focus of the wing, combat proficiency will take care of itself. All of our training and flight procedures are based on a hybrid of USAF, USN, USMC, and NATO training documents, pipelines, and procedures. Both of the 1st VFW founders have experience in the US Navy and Marine aviation communities, and strong ties to active pilots in the USAF. We leverage our unique ability to communicate with real life active pilots, NFOs/WSOs, Maintenance Officers, and Instructor Pilots to improve our training programs. Our goal is to provide the most intensive and realistic training available, in a fun and respectful environment. The 1st VFW is a democratic organization. All Wing decisions are decided by our members, including the sims we fly. Currently we support both Open Falcon, and Falcon 4.0: Allied Force. All our members have access to a Wing dedicated server for both OF and AF. The server enables us to host large online flights and F4 community wide training exercises and competitions. Furthermore, we are dedicated to improving the sims we fly, by creating mods and new features that we share with our members. We demonstrate this commitment by providing all of our new members with their own 1st VFW free email and FTP accounts to make file sharing quick and easy.
